It’s a busy time for us down in the south at Wai Waterfront Restaurant. We have just finished a busy winter ski season and if that wasn't enough work we entered our first ever team into Restaurant of the Year at the NZ Culinary Fare. Bronze medals all around for kitchen and front of house, not to bad for our first time. So the snow is melting...

Wai Restaurant recently sent their first team ever to the NZ Culinary Fare. Wai enetered into the catagory Restaurnat of the Year under smart/casual. Team Martin James (Head Chef/Owner), Mark Southon and Georgie Baker did an outsatanding job in this very competitive environment winning a bronze medal for both the Kitchen and Restaurant.

In a review done by Cafe Magazine for the Winter 2008 season, Wai was cited as "exceptional" and "among the top 20 restaurants in New Zealand."
